2013-05-29 News and web pages updates ...

This news section is not updated as often as earlier. This reason for this is the Smart* components since 2010 have been part of ABB's AlarmInsight suite and relevant material is published through the AlarmInsight channels. We will however continue to maintain this web page with latest patch builds and releases to support out many users around the world. Recently SmartLogger pacth #E has been released. This patch includes a number of fixes plus better integration with ABB AlarmInsight.

2010-05-09 SmartLogger 4.0 released...

SmartLogger 4.0 is now officially released and introduces several new features and many nice improvements. 2006-11-26 New subscription possibility

Many of our customers have requested an easier way to purchase and handle minor upgrades. We are therefore pleased to introduce our new subscription program that features:

Subscription fee is 15% of the listprices and the minimum subscription period is 2 years.

2005-10-18 Reducing alarms with SmartNotification

SmartNotification 1.2 beta 0 has been released for customer trials. The new version has focus on Alarm Management and can be used as supplementary tool to reducing the number of alarms in control rooms. It is now possible to filter maintenance alarms from alarm lists and send them as mail lists to maintenance people on a scheduled basis.

2005-07-20 Final version of SmartClient 4.0 released

After several months with beta versions shipping, we are proud to announce the final version of SmartClient 4.0 to be released. The new version features many improvements and a redesigned Analyze Tools module with new tools for alarm management analysis. 2005-01-10 New price structure for SmartClient 4.0 released

With SmartClient 4.0 a revised price structure will be introduced. The price structure has been simplified and adjusted to an increasing interest for installations with concurrent users. It is now much easier and less expensive to get started with only a few concurrent users.

2004-07-15 SmartClient price structure simplified

To simplify the price structure for SmartClient items, we reduced the number of items available. The items no longer available are now included in a standard SmartClient. On top of that, we have also reduced the prices on several items.

2004-07-15 SmartOPC 1.0 pre-release

We are proud to announce, that the SmartLogger now can be connected to OPC data sources. The OPC interface was originally planned for SmartLogger 4.0 (later this year), but due to customer requirements we have made a pre-release that works with existing SmartLogger 3.3 installations. The SmartOPC release has the following features:
- Remote OPC TCP/IP connectivity - No DCOM!.
- Utility Server for remote supervision and fault tracing (via SmartStatus).
- Buffering feature to avoid data loss in case of network dropouts.
- Support for OPC custom fields.
- Unique automerge feature for custom fields.
- OPC AE Viewer for OPC server verification.

2001-10-22 New SmartLogger 3.3 pricelist available

Due to the upcoming release of SmartLogger 3.3 in December a new pricelist has been released. Some of the changes are:
- Watchdog module is now a standard feature included in all logger versions.
- The price for additional SmartClient licences has been lowered.
- The price for the Analyze Tools option has been lowered.
- Optional Dongle protection is now free of charge.

2001-10-15 Distribution agreement signed with ABB A/S DK

SmartLogger Sales are pleased to announce that a distribution agreement has been signed with ABB A/S in Denmark. ABB DK now handles distribution, marketing and 1. level support for all SmartLogger products in Denmark.
ABB DK furthermore handles distribution to ABB companies world wide.

2001-05-15 SmartLogger prevails in the Danish Northsea

Statoil has recently chosen SmartLogger as replacement of an existing eventlogger on the Siri oil/gas platform. With this order the Smart* products have prevailed in the Danish part of the Northsea.
All platform operators - Maersk Oil & Gas, Amerada Hess and Statoil - now use SmartLogger as their preferred eventlogger on all platforms.

2001-01-23 Major SmartLogger installation succesfully completed

A major eventlogger system based on Smart* products has been succesfully installed on 5 oil/gas platforms in the Danish part of the Northsea. The configuration replaces a total of 20 (40 redundant) event printers from 5 different vendor systems: ABB Master, ABB Advant, GPE, Kongsberg and Yokogawa. The setup consists of 2x5 SmartLogger, 20+ SmartClient, 5+ SmartStatus and 1 SmartTranslator application.
All events from all 5 platforms are stored locally and are concurrently transferred to an onshore Oracle server for advanced analysis.
Approximately 350.000 events are processed each day.

2001-01-19 SmartLogger 3.2 Service Release 1 available

This new program in the SmartLogger product family is a text file to SmartLogger table translator. It can automatically translate any text file containing events to a SmartLogger table in a supported database format chosen by the user. 1999-08-18	SmartTranslator 1.0 released
This new program in the SmartLogger product family is a text file to SmartLogger table translator. It can automatically translate any text file containing events to a SmartLogger table in a supported database format chosen by the user.
